In the spring of 2020, the Griffin+Spalding County intergovernmental group began work to create a community-wide strategic plan. Through a contract with the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG), a community-wide strategic plan for FY 2022 through FY 2027 was developed. The City of Griffin, Spalding County, Griffin-Spalding County School System, and religious, civic, and non-profit organizations came together with a unified objective to increase the quality of life for all members of the Griffin+Spalding community through cooperative action.
