Trick or Treat in the Garden

Posted on by

Gardeners and Supporters, It will soon be time for Halloween and we, again, are going to have Halloween in the Garden.  This event gives children in the area around the garden a safe and fun place to come to on Halloween.  Last year we had around 150 children and parents come through the garden for trick or treat and games.  We had 55 volunteers who made this special occasion possible.  I am asking for volunteers who would like to participate in the Halloween event this year.  We need people who would like to set up a table and pass out treats to the  children and we need groups who would like to face paint and do games with the children.  We need tables, candy, decorations, as well as people so if you can’t come out on Halloween, please consider bringing treats for volunteers to pass out.  There are many ways to help.  Last year, 4-H youth came out dressed in costumes and played games with the kids.  It was great fun!  Members of the Ferst Foundation have already volunteered to bring books to give out to the children!  This is a great opportunity for groups who are looking for a community service activity. Please consider coming out to support this community effort.  Feel free to pass this message along to any else you think might be interested in volunteering. If you would like to participate, just send me an e-mail or call the office.

Trick or Treat in the Garden

Thank you so much for your interest in the Healthy Life Community Garden.

The glory of gardening:

hands in the dirt, head in the sun,

heart with nature.

To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.
