June 4th L3 (Listen-Learn-Lead) Suicide Intervention Training. The L3 curriculum by is the newest line up in the AFM line up and has received rave reviews from participants. Location: Harps Crossing Baptist Church in Hollinville (Pike County) time 8:30 – 4:00 Open to all. Minimum age 16. 7 Hours CE credit available for LPCA and NASW members.
June 15 Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an 8-hour training course designed to give participants of the key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind Mental Health First Aid demonstrates that it makes people feel more comfortable managing a crisissituation and builds mental health literacy — helping the public identify, understandand respond to signs of mental illness. Specifically, studies found that those who weretrained in Mental Health First Aid have greater confidence in providing help to others and improved concordance with health professionals about treatments, and decreased stigmatizing attitudes. Location: Fayetteville GA Start Time 8:30. Open to all. Minimum age 16. 8 hours CE credit available for NASW members.
