Heart & Sole

Dear  Collaborative Members and Community Leaders,

I am writing to you on behalf of our neediest children in Spalding County that benefit from the Backpack Food for Kids Program.  You already know this program is close to my heart.    It   provides supplemental food over the weekend for those in risk of insufficient food while not in school. Teachers report the effectiveness of this program that children are better prepared for learning when returning to school of Mondays.

I would like to place a pair of shoes in each child’s backpack for Christmas. Our partner, Field’s Foot and Ankle Clinic, is dedicated  to making that happen through their Shoes for Griffin Campaign, but we need your help.

Field’s Foot and Ankle Clinic has shoe sizes for each of the 251 boys and girls enrolled in BPFK.   We are thankful for the donations that have come in and approximately 175 remain. Your donation of new shoes will bring us closer to our goal of a pair of shoes for each child.

To obtain information for shoes sizes you may:

  • Visit the Field’s Foot and Ankle Clinic at  730 South 8th Street, Griffin  or
  • Call 770- 228- 6644 or
  • Visit their Facebook page or
  • Send an email to [email protected]

Please deliver your donations to Field’s Foot & Ankle Clinic no later than December 9, 2015. Cash or check donations payable to Spalding Collaborative are also accepted. At your request, acknowledgment for a tax deduction can be provided.

Our community is clearly excited and eager to see this project succeed. We are grateful that Griffin’s Famous Footwear Shoes and Roses are offering discounts for purchases made for Shoes for Griffin. I would like to thank you for considering this opportunity to partner with our organization for providing shoes for our neediest.

If you have any queries regarding Backpack Food for Kids or Shoes for Griffin project please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

With sincere thanks,

Joseph Walker
