SENIOR Issues Fall Conference is coming November 20!
Surviving the Covid Cocoon
Senior Issues fall conference to be held
The Senior Issues Committee’s fall conference will be held next month (November).
Organizers say that because they cannot meet in person, they opted for a drive-through format.
Dr. Bruce Reid, the new head of the Senior Issues Committee as of September, said that they considered doing a virtual meeting, but decided against it as some have issues with technology.
“Everything is upside down right now,” he said, referencing the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
He said the team had to be “creative and rethink how things are done to try to provide the same services and helpful information in a new way.”
The conference is titled “Surviving the Covid Cocoon” and conference participants will drive through the Spalding County Senior Center to receive a “survival kit” packed with information on a variety of topics that range from health, to technology, to Medicare enrollment.
To participate in the Senior Issues Fall Conference on Friday, Nov. 20, contact the Spalding County Senior Center at 770-467-4385 to register. A drive-through time slot will be assigned to you.
